***Film Ending Spoiler***
Chernobyl Diaries film ending reveals a concealed government secret, that radioactive creatures are behind the mutilation. The movie characters die in the following order:
In our opinion, the Chernobyl Diaries characters die in this exact order to create suspense. Uri's death puts the group into a tough position. Can this group make it out of Prypiat alive? Chris goes missing. His girlfriend Natalie is abducted. Michael sacrifices himself to save Zoe, Paul and Amanda. Zoe falls victim to the zombie mutants. Russian soldiers shoot Paul dead. The Final Girl, Amanda, dies inside a room full of zombies. Soon after Uri dies, the deaths alternate between the couples.
In the Chernobyl Diaries film ending, we see zombie creatures attacking Zoe. The same zombies also attempt to assault Paul and Amanda. The movie ending explored how radiation adversely affected the residents who stayed behind in the midst of the nuclear meltdown.
Uri warns the group about visiting the Chernobyl reactors. He tells them they would require a mask and special suit to avoid radiation contamination, which is extremely high at ground zero. Paul and Amanda mistakenly arrive at Reactor #4, where high radiation levels begin to burn their skin and eyes - lesions form on their faces.
Russian soldiers confront Paul and Amanda. They view the trespassers as a potential risk. Paul inches closer, pleasing with the Russian soldiers to help them. The Russian soldiers shoot Paul dead. Amanda is visibly upset. She rests her head on Paul's motionless body
Inside an underground laboratory, Amanda is groggy. Two scientists speak in two tongues - communicating in Russian and English. Amanda is asked whether anyone knows she is there. She shares that nobody knows her whereabouts. The scientists mention this girl visited Reactor #4. All her friends are totally gone, except for her.
The scientists refuse to release Amanda. She is forced inside a dark room. Alone and scared, Amanda calls out to find help. Without warning, a large group of zombies begin to surround her. Nevertheless, the Chernobyl conspiracy contradicts the 2002 statement revealed in the movie setup. The real truth is that radiation zombies now occupy Prypiat.
Chernobyl Diaries has a decent ending. Moviegoers see the truth unfold; zombies roam around Prypiat, Russian scientists conduct experiments on flesh-eating mutants, and no person is permitted to leave Chernobyl alive.
